"The school is dedicated to the lifelong learning of all children and all adults."
(Essential Elements of a Paideia School)

IMPLEMENTATION CYCLE

The National Paideia Center offers a site-based, whole-school implementation experience that is custom-designed to the unique needs of individual schools. Once a school community chooses to implement the Paideia Program, we embark on a three-year journey. In each successive year of that journey, we use a cycle of Professional Development Events:

  1. Summer Institutes (Summer)
  2. Whole-Faculty Training (Fall)
  3. Technical Support Visits
    (monthly during school)
  4. Annual Conference (Spring)

Professional Development Event Cycle:
Whole School Paideia Implementation

The Paideia professional development sequence begins with school teams coming to North Carolina in the summer for two institutes: Leadership and Implementation. Immediately prior to the school year, a whole school faculty training (on-site) occurs. Then, regularly scheduled technical support (on-site) visits occur throughout the year. In the spring, school teams attend the Annual Paideia Conference.
