The National Paideia Center has been holding an annual or semi-annual Paideia Conference in various locations around the country since the mid-1990s. These conferences feature two days of keynote speakers, plenary sessions, implementation-focused breakout sessions, and—of course—a conference-wide Paideia Socratic seminar.

Our 2018 Conference was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and featured site visits to two exemplary schools in the Paideia tradition: the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts and the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. We explored the theme “How to Speak/How to Listen,” based on Mortimer Adler’s book; download the Conference program for an example of how our conferences are structured.

Planning is underway for a 2020 Paideia Conference based on the redesigned Paideia School for Creative Thinking. Stay in touch with us for updates on timing and location.
