Upbuilding Discussions to Better Understand Racial & Social Justice

Hands of many colored reaching toward justice scale

The National Paideia Center invites you to participate in our next virtual conference, March 19 and 20, 2021, focusing on building dialogue skills to discuss racial and social justice with empathy and civility.

We currently intersect in a world that is fractured by deep and systemic injustices that center around race and identity. Daily occurrences and transgressions remind us that we as educators are woefully unprepared to talk constructively about race, identity, and belief systems. At the National Paideia Center, we believe that genuine dialogue is one of the key ways to “upbuild” our understanding of racism and other discriminatory or unjust practices. It is vital that we work together to address its existence in public schools and begin to make systemic changes.

This conference is designed to inspire personal growth in the participants and provide a powerful experience that can become the basis for action in the school communities they serve. Please note that this is not a training per se, but rather an opportunity to participate in meaningful and productive discussions about racial and social justice and how to approach these important topics with respect and dignity.

Please see the draft agenda below. It will be a discussion-focused format led by NPC staff and registration will be limited. The cost will be $100 per participant; formal registration closed on March 15. To inquire about possible late registration, please email us.
